"Electronic Store (eshop): Obligations, Complaints, Dispute Resolution"

The seminar is aimed at every business - merchant that has or is preparing to acquire an online store (eshop) and is involved in e-commerce.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the seminar is to inform the business - merchant about the online obligations that his business bears when offering goods and/or services electronically, addressing consumers.
The merchant-business will be informed about how he can resolve any disputes with consumers, which may arise in the context of electronic sales, immediately, out of court, at extremely low cost and with multiple benefits for his business.
After completing the seminar, the merchant-business will know:
• The obligations of online stores, as provided for by national and European legislation on e-commerce.
• How can he respond effectively and favorably for his business in the event of a complaint from a consumer.
• How can it, both at a national and European level, resolve immediately, out of court and amicably, any disputes with consumers that may arise within the context of the operation of its online store.
CONTENT
The seminar is divided into four sections:
In the first section The legal framework will be presented in a concise, simple, yet comprehensive manner, which concerns the obligations of online stores (eshops) in e-commerce, such as e.g. correct consumer information, right to return a product, right to replacement, right to refund, the extremely important right of withdrawal, etc.
In second section The Greek and European legal framework for the electronic resolution of consumer disputes will be presented through the Regulation on Electronic Dispute Resolution of Consumer Disputes (Regulation (EU) 524/2013) and the Directive on Alternative Dispute Resolution of Consumer Disputes (Directive 2013/11/EU).
In the third section will be presented how to submit an electronic complaint to electronic complaints platform of startADR for domestic consumer disputes and the European online complaints platform for cross-border consumer disputes.
In the fourth section Time will be dedicated to discussion, clarifications and answers to any questions and queries regarding the previous sections.
RAPPORTEUR
Dr. Eleftheria Sp. Papadimitriou
Dr. Eleftheria Sp. Papadimitriou is a Doctor of Laws from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Informatics Law) and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the same Law School (Artificial Intelligence and Personal Data). She is a Lawyer at the Supreme Court of Greece, a Mediator and a Mediator Trainer. She is the Founder of the Law Firm "Eleftheria Papadimitriou and Associates", riapapadimitriou.gr, as well as Founder and General Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute startADR, startadr.org. She specializes in issues of information technology law, e-commerce, consumer protection, personal data protection, intellectual property, medical law and bioethics, as well as in the field of online dispute resolution (ODR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). She is a member of the “Law & Informatics” Research Group of the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a member of the Editorial Team of the Journal “Information Law Journal”. She regularly participates in conferences, workshops and scientific events in Greece and abroad with relevant presentations, while her presentations and studies have been published in reputable Greek and foreign scientific journals. She was a member of the Research Group of the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the research program “The Legal Framework of Mobile Applications”. She is also the Coordinator of the Working Group of the "Law & Informatics" Research Group of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Law with the subject of "Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrencies", while she continues her research work in her areas of specialization to this day.
