The seminar is aimed at every citizen who makes electronic purchases via the Internet in their capacity as a consumer.


PURPOSE

The aim of the seminar is for every consumer to learn in practice how to resolve a dispute – complaint with a merchant – business, which has arisen due to an online purchase of a product or service from an online store. This will be done through the presentation and familiarization in practice with the innovative, for Greek standards, electronic dispute resolution platform. ODR4ALL of startADR.

Thus, the consumer will be able to resolve his dispute with the trader immediately, quickly, simply, out of court and at no cost, and even electronically, without the need for unnecessary travel and without having to resort to time-consuming and costly legal proceedings.

 

After completing the seminar, the consumer will know:

  • What is electronic resolution of consumer disputes and what is the institutional framework that provides for it, including sanctions for a business.
  • How the electronic consumer dispute resolution platform works in practice ODR4ALL of startADR.
  • How can he resolve his electronic dispute with the merchant-business quickly, cost-free, out-of-court and effectively through the electronic consumer dispute resolution platform? ODR4ALL of startADR.
  • The multiple benefits of electronic resolution of consumer disputes for the consumer.

 

CONTENT

The seminar will have as a reference the electronic platform for resolving consumer disputes ODR4ALL of startADR.

Initially, reference will be made to the institutional framework for the electronic resolution of consumer disputes in Greece, but also in Europe, with specific reference to the European Union's Electronic Platform for the Resolution of Consumer Disputes.

Afterwards, the participant - consumer will be presented and trained step by step on the electronic consumer dispute resolution platform. ODR4ALL of startADR.

Finally, the advantages of electronic resolution of consumer disputes and the multiple benefits for consumers will be presented and analyzed.



RAPPORTEUR


Dr. Eleftheria Sp. Papadimitriou

Dr. Eleftheria Sp. Papadimitriou is a Doctor of Laws from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Informatics Law) and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the same Law School (Artificial Intelligence and Personal Data). She is a Lawyer at the Supreme Court of Greece, a Mediator and a Mediator Trainer. She is the Founder of the Law Firm "Eleftheria Papadimitriou and Associates", riapapadimitriou.gr, as well as Founder and General Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute startADR, startadr.org. She specializes in issues of information technology law, e-commerce, consumer protection, personal data protection, intellectual property, medical law and bioethics, as well as in the field of online dispute resolution (ODR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). She is a member of the “Law & Informatics” Research Group of the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a member of the Editorial Team of the Journal “Information Law Journal”. She regularly participates in conferences, workshops and scientific events in Greece and abroad with relevant presentations, while her presentations and studies have been published in reputable Greek and foreign scientific journals. She was a member of the Research Group of the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the research program “The Legal Framework of Mobile Applications”. She is also the Coordinator of the Working Group of the "Law & Informatics" Research Group of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Law with the subject of "Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrencies", while she continues her research work in her areas of specialization to this day.
