The seminar is addressed to every citizen who travels within the Greek Territory or within the European Union, but also to every consumer who enjoys travel and leisure services in Greece or the E.U.


PURPOSE

The aim of the seminar is for every citizen as a passenger, but also every consumer of travel and leisure services, to learn in practice how to resolve their dispute with the respective business, e.g. airline, hotel, accommodation owner, immediately, quickly, economically and effectively. To be able to do so, however, they must know, on the one hand, the rights they have as a passenger, but also as a consumer, and on the other hand, the procedural framework for exercising their rights.

The seminar focuses particularly on the citizen's ability to make use of alternative dispute resolution by choosing a certified alternative dispute resolution body, in order to resolve their respective dispute in a time and money-saving manner.

For this reason, the seminar also presents the new electronic tool that citizens now have at their disposal to resolve their disputes, the mobile application. TravelODR of startADR, which has been developed and designed exclusively for this purpose.

After completing the seminar, the citizen-consumer will know:

  • What types of disputes can be resolved out of court and even electronically using the mobile application? TravelODR of startADR.
  • What is electronic resolution of consumer disputes and what is the institutional framework that provides for it in Greece and Europe?
  • How the mobile application works in practice TravelODR of startADR.
  • The multiple benefits of electronic travel dispute resolution.

 

 

CONTENT

The seminar will have as a reference point the new, modern and innovative mobile application TravelODR of startADR.

Initially, reference will be made to the types of travel disputes that can be resolved through alternative dispute resolution, specifically through the mobile application. TravelODR of startADRReference will also be made to the relevant rights of passengers and consumers, as well as to the current legislative framework.

Next, the institutional framework for the electronic resolution of consumer disputes in Greece, but also in Europe, will be presented.

Finally, the participants will be presented and familiarized with the mobile application. TravelODR of startADR, as well as the analysis of the advantages of electronic resolution of consumer disputes.

RAPPORTEUR


Dr. Eleftheria Sp. Papadimitriou

Eleftheria Papadimitriou is a postdoctoral researcher at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the field of Commercial and Economic Law with a particular focus on the scientific subject of new technologies, the digital market and e-commerce. She is a visiting lecturer at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the field of Commercial and Economic Law.

She is a scientific associate at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies – Law and Politics of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (https://ictlaw.web.auth.gr/index.php/personnel/), as well as Guest Expert at the Master of Arts (MA) in Digital Transformation of Panteion University (https://digi-dcl.com/). She is a scientific associate of the Laboratory of "Digital Transformation Law and Artificial Intelligence" of the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. (dtail.gr), dealing particularly with issues of digital transformation in the business sector, as well as with issues of artificial intelligence, having also carried out postdoctoral research in the latter.

She is a practicing lawyer at the Supreme Court (riapapadimitriou.gr) and member of the Hellenic Bar Association with specialization in Commercial Law (Corporate Law, Bankruptcy Law, Banking Law, Corporate Governance, FinTech, Intellectual Property Law, Consumer Protection, E-Commerce, Digital Services and Digital Markets), as well as Information Technology Law (Artificial Intelligence, Cryptocurrencies and Cryptomarkets, Personal Data Protection, Software and Databases, Electronic Payments, Internet Attacks).

She is the Founder, General Manager and Head of European Programs of startADR (startadr.org), which is an official online dispute resolution body, licensed by the Ministry of Development and notified to the European Commission. She is an accredited Mediator and an accredited Mediator Trainer (ADRgroup, UK).

He is a member of the "Law & Informatics" research group of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a member of the editorial team of the "Information Law Journal" journal.

She has participated as a speaker in numerous conferences, seminars and lectures abroad and in Greece, presenting her scientific knowledge in her fields. She regularly writes articles in reputable Greek and foreign legal journals and in collective volumes of reputable scholars.
